Hotel Maximilian’s in Augsburg awarded 5-Star Superior
The Hotel Maximilian's in Augsburg has been awarded the highest official hotel classification of 5-Star Superior. As
one of 73 hotels in Germany and one of 11 hotels in Bavaria, it belongs to a very exclusive circle of the best hotels
in Germany. For the 300th anniversary in 2022, the team around Theodor Gandenheimer (Managing Director)
has set itself the goal of being among the best hotels in Germany. The lockdown period was used to carry out
renovation measures, further expand digitalisation and once again improve the already very high service
The excluive and historic hotel is also one of the best culinary addresses in Germany. The Gourmet Restaurant
Sartory leaded by Executive Chef Simon Lang defended the MICHELIN star for the third time in a row.
With its promotion to the circle of Germany's best hotels, the Maximilian's wants to send a strong statement for
Augsburg and wants to expand its reputation in the international luxury segment.
The 5-Star Superior Hotel Maximilian's is one of the most traditional hotels in Germany and looks back on an
impressive history of more than 300 years. For years, the hotel was run as a franchise hotel of the Steigenberger
Hotels & Resorts brand, until Hotel Maximilian's joined the renowned American association Preferred Hotels &
Resorts in January 2020, now as an independent private hotel.
With 132 rooms and over 1,200 m² of event space, the hotel is the first hotel on the square directly on the
magnificent Maximilianstrasse. The culinary hightlights are the Gourmet Restaurant Sartory, which has been
awarded a MICHELIN star, the restaurant Maximilian°s with show kitchen and sun terrace, as well as the Bar 3M,
